Deacon Edgar Bennett was born to the late Mr. Archie and Mrs. Addie Bennett on August 22, 1945, in Donalsonville, Georgia.
He attended Hutto High School in Bainbridge, Georgia. Edgar was employed by LMC Manufacturing Company, Inc. of Donalsonville for thirty years.
Deacon Edgar Bennett accepted CHRIST as his PERSONAL SAVIOR at an early age. He joined Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully until his health failed.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the former Mary Register. To their union one son was born.
The final chapter of Edgar’s earthly life came to a close on Sunday, July 21, 2019, in the privacy of his home.
Edgar was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
His surviving siblings are Ruthell Taylor of Edison, NJ, Linda Bennett of Kansas City, MO, Alma Close-Jackson of Rahway, NJ, Alvin Bennett of Clarksville, TN, Jerry Bennett, and Bobby Bennett, both of Tampa, Florida.
Edgar leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mary Bennett of Donalsonville, Georgia; his children: Edgar Bennett, Jr. (Crissema) of Bainbridge, Georgia, Katrina Kittrell (Norman) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Timothy Bennett (Valarie) of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Justin Bennett of Donalsonville, Georgia; twelve grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Edgar’s favorite nephew was Jimmy Bennett (Lorene) of Donalsonville. His closest friends were Jerome Breedlove (Cheryl) of Bainbridge, GA, Pastor Thomas Bell (Corene) of Bainbridge, GA, and Martin Pugh Jr. (Christine) of Donalsonville.
