Stephen George, Jr.

Stephen was born to the union of Stephen George, Sr. and Cora Lee Buggs George on April 1, 1945, in Donalsonville, Georgia. He was the eldest of three children born to this union.

Stephen Jr. accepted Christ at an early age at Newberry African Methodist Episcopal Church.

He was a farmer and also worked at the plywood mill in Cedar Springs, Georgia, until it closed. Stephen then became employed with the Early County Road Department, where he retired due to illness.

Our beloved Stephen George Jr., passed away on October 19, 2019, at the Early Memorial Nursing Home.

Preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Lillie McCoy George of Blakely, Georgia; one sister, Corine George of Blakely, Georgia; one brother, Jonas George of Blakely, Georgia; one niece, Stacey George of Cuthbert, Georgia; two aunts: Odessa Johnson of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Ivory George of Seville, Florida; seven stepchildren: Avis Holmes, Teresa Price (Hal), Chandra Levatte (Robert), Eric Yarbrough (BoRonica), Anthony L. Yarbrough (Priscilla), Terrence Yarbrough, all of Blakely, Georgia, and Albert Stringer (Dee) of Birmingham, Alabama; a godson whom he helped raise, Marcus McCuller of Dothan, Alabama; and a host of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.
