Daisy Tarver Life and Time

Daisy Mae Tarver, daughter of Walter Freeman Sr. and Louise Paramore Freeman, was born on November 25, 1929, in Donalsonville, Georgia.  Her life’s journey took her through many cities and states, but it was in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia, that she found her true home.  It was here that she met and married Howard Tarver, marking a significant chapter in her life.

From the early days of her life, Daisy’s heart was filled with love for GOD.  She was a dedicated pillar of The Church of God in Christ in Atlanta, Georgia, until her health began to decline.  Her commitment and loyalty to the church never faltered, even in the face of challenges.  It was this love that fueled her perseverance and allowed her to fulfill her calling until the end.  She had a passion for studying GOD’S Word.  Her favorite Bible scriptures were Psalm 91 and Psalm 121, which speak of finding refuge and guidance during life’s journey.

After living in Atlanta for several years and facing considerable health challenges, Daisy decided to relocate to Donalsonville, Georgia, to be closer to her family.  She subsequently took up residence in the Donalsonville Nursing Home until her passing.  It became clear that she could no longer endure the pain, nor did she have the strength to continue her fight.  THE LORD quietly whispered, “Your work her on earth is done.”  Daisy peacefully passed away on the morning of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, resting in GOD’S Hands.

Precedents in death include her father and mother, Walter Freeman Sr. and Louise Paramore Freeman; two sisters, Flossie Slaughter and Frances Polite; and seven brothers: Henry Freeman, Rev. Cornelius Freeman, Walter Freeman Jr., Rev. Paul Freeman, Rev. Moses Freeman, Willie C. Freeman, and Joseph Freeman Sr.

The legacy of Daisy is reflected through the cherished memories she leaves behind.  She is survived by her sister, Louise Pugh, residing in Okeechobee, Florida; and two sisters-in-law, Nettie Freeman from Burlington, New Jersey, and Simmie Freeman from Donalsonville, Georgia.  Additionally, a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends remember her fondly.  Together, they hold a unique place in her life and contribute to a collective memory of a lifetime rich in treasured moments.
