Deacon Alvin Fennell

Deacon Alvin Fennell was born on May 25, 1917 to the late John and Georgia Fennell.

He was also known as "Daddy", "Granddaddy", "Grandpop", and "Fennell", but many knew him as "Bubba".

Deacon Fennell was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until his health failed.

Deacon Fennell farmed all of his life. He also worked for Seminole county Board of Education for twenty-seven years as a bus driver.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Eliza McClendon Fennell, and to this union seven children were born. He later met and married Doshie Barber Fennell.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elijah; two sons: Jimmy Fennell and Allen Fennell; four grandchildren: Larry Fennell, Jr., Brent Fennell, James Elijah and Frederick Elijah; three sisters: Johnnie Lee Fennell, Thelma Fennell and Grace Fennell; and two brothers: James Fennell and John Fennell.

On Thursday, February 23, 2017, the Lord called Deacon Alvin Fennell home to rest.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving wife, Doshie Barber Fennell; four daughters: Grace Wellman of Philadelphia, PA, Patricia Fennell of Graham, NC, Barbara Long (John) of Donalsonville, GA and Annie Fedd of Dania, FL; four sons: Alvin Fennell, Jr., Edward Fennell both of Philadelphia, AP, Larry Fennel (Harriett) of  Donalsonville, GA and Teddy Blanks (Sharon) of Dothan, AL; eight stepchildren: Eugene Barber, Jr., Myrtice Atrice (Walker), Cleve Barber (Cynthia), Ricky Barber, Tony Barber, Scotty Barber, Pamela Barber Smith (Clyde), and Paula Barber; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-seven great grandchildren; thirty-four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
