Deacon Fennie E. Lee Jr. was born February 12, 1954, to the late Deacon Fennie C. Lee Sr. and Sister Ida Mae Lee in Donalsonville, Georgia. He was the middle child of his two siblings. He accepted JESUS CHRIST as his personal LORD AND SAVIOR at an early age.
Fennie had been a member of Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church all of his Christian life. He was ordained a Deacon by Pastor Patrick Gilley Sr., serving on the Deacon Ministry faithfully and diligently for many years. He also served as the Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher and was a member of the Male Choir, Finance Committee and Layman’s Ministry. He was a very humble man who was devoted to his Church and his Pastor. Deacon Lee attended Church consistently until his death on Thursday morning, June 27, 2019.
He attended Seminole County Training School and Seminole County High School in Donalsonville, Georgia, where he earned his high school diploma in 1972. Later, he attended and graduated from South Georgia Technical and Vocational School in Americus, Georgia, where he earned his Clerical Degree in 1973.
He was employed by Patchogue Plymouth Company in 1974 for over thirty-five years until it closed down. Later, he worked at American Peanut Growers Group until an injury on the job kept him from working.
On June 27, 2019, Deacon Fennie E. Lee, Jr. received and answered the Call of his FATHER and went Home to be with JESUS CHRIST. He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunts, his uncles and his brother-in-law Michael P. Saunders.
He leaves to cherish his memories his older sister Martha Saunders (Michael) and his younger brother Samuel Lee (Helen); special friends of the family, Reverend Patrick Gilley, Sr. and Mrs. Tellesia Gilley; and a host of other relatives and very good friends.
