Elijah Johnson, affectionately known as "Ralph", was born on January 26, 1950, in Damascus, Georgia, to the late Mr. L. C. and Mrs. Nadine Johnson.
He worked at Cargill Peanut Company in Donalsonville, Georgia, retiring after thirty-five years of employment.
Elijah departed his earthly life on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama, after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Lonnie Charles Johnson, Jimmy Lee Johnson and Eddie Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his partner of thirty-five years, Bennie Lee Jones of Iron City, Georgia; his children’s mother, Madis Johnson of Bainbridge, Georgia; his children: Thelma Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Joyce Johnson, all of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Sheila Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana; his stepchildren: Katie Pickren (Carlus) of Colquitt, Georgia, Hattie Moton (Stanley) of Donalsonville, Georgia, Quinilla Jones of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Joe Jones, Jr. of Jakin, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; fifteen step-grandchildren; four sisters: Azzie Jones of Colquitt, Georgia, Martha Cody (Michael) of Edison, Georgia, Willie Pearl Williams (Holton) of Americus, Georgia, and Gloria Ricks of Blakely, Georgia; four brothers: Lee Morris Johnson of Warner Robins, Georgia, Lee Earnest Johnson of Moultrie, Georgia, Jonathan Johnson of Edison, Georgia, and Otis Johnson (Rhonda) of Donalsonville, Georgia; two special friends, James "T-Bone" Brannon and Bill Crawford, both of Donalsonville, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
