Sister Geraldine Morris was born June 19, 1921 to Mr. Dan and Mrs. Tena Hutchins, who preceded her in death. She had a brother, Wilma Hutchins, who also predeceased her.
Geraldine was educated in the Early County School System. She accepted CHRIST at an early age and joined Friendship under Reverend Stratton.
She met and married Mr. Odis Morris. Their union was blessed with six children; a son preceded her in death. In 1949 they moved to Iron City, Georgia, where she joined New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully. She was Secretary and member of the Senior Choir until her health failed. She didn't just serve her church; whenever she was in the house of THE LORD, she was willing to work. She also served as Treasury of the Union as well as Secretary of the Women's Department of the Association for many years.
She received her "Day of Joy" on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. This is the day she went Home to be with THE LORD.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children: Cylean Morriss, Beatrice Williams, both of Iron City, GA, Doris Tolbert(Percy Lee Sr.), Carrie Ford(Harry Sr.), both of Jakin, GA, and Bonnie Morris of Alamo, GA; a special daughter, Josie Morris of San Francisco, CA; a special son, Jerome Coachman of Donalsonville, GA; an adopted brother, Cornelius Whitmore(Patricia) of Rochester, NY; five grands: Percy Tolbert Jr., Marcus Tolbert, Harry Ford Jr., Keshia Smith(Leon), and Jamie Jinks(Telly); thirteen great grands; eightgreat-great grands; a special niece, Christine Morris; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Leroy Williams.
