Gregory confessed CHRIST at Donalsonville Holiness and Deliverance Church at a young age.

Gregory was a great provider and a loving, kind-hearted person. He leaves to cherish a loving wife, Sharon Barnes of Donalsonville, GA; four daughters: Brianna Barnes of Donalsonville, Raushandra Barnes, Raushanda Barnes, both of Milton, FL, and Ebony Fudge of Donalsonville; a loving mother, Lula Barnes Pierre of Donalsonville; one sister, Jeanen Grimsley (Donald) of Attapulgus, GA; one brother, Hershel Virgin (Michelle) of Atlanta, GA; three sisters-in-law: Kimese Christian, Faye Rambo, both of Donalsonville, and Shareka Benjamin (Terry) of Hahira, GA; four brothers-in-law: Anthony Lee of Donalsonville, Christopher Christian of Atlanta, GA, Derek Smith, and Eric Smith, both of Dothan, AL; a loving niece, Taquandra Leonard of Attapulgus, AL; one goddaughter, Tamira Watson of Donalsonville, GA; one godson, Ja’Kobe Henderson of Donalsonville, GA; and a host of other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James "Coochie" Barnes Sr.
