Jimmy Lamar Bennett, known as “Bo” to his family, was born November 6, 1954, in Donalsonville, Georgia, to Betty Joe Jones and Dexter Bennett. He accepted CHRIST in his heart as his personal Savior and answered GOD’S Call on April 10, 2025.
Jimmy received his education from Seminole County High School. He later entered the workforce and was employed by Farley Nuclear Plant and Georgia Pacific. Before retiring, he was employed by Amoco Fabrics and Fibers for 21 years.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Joe Jones and Dexter Bennett; daughter, Delores Bennett; grandson, Eric Kevontay Gray; and brother, Darryl J. Bennett.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Lorene Bennett; three grandchildren: Marcus Clark of Donalsonville, GA, Ga’Lesa Warren (Jonathan) of Columbus, GA, and Derrion Gray of Bainbridge, GA; four great grandchildren: Madison Warren, McKinley Warren, Makenzie Warren, all of Columbus, GA, and Marcus Clark Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; bonus mom, Eddie Mae Bennett of Donalsonville, GA; two sisters, Katrina Johnson (George) of Donalsonville and Veatrece Newton (James) of Somerset, NJ; sisters-in-law: Brenda Hargrove of Newark, NJ, Loretta Chambers of Donalsonville, and Dorothy Lewis of Chicago, IL; aunts: Maureen Smith, Evelyn Smith, Helen Smith, and Mary Bennett, all of Donalsonville, Betty Bennett of Chattahoochee, FL, Lynn Randall Callaway (James) of Topeka, KS, Ruthell Taylor of Plainsfield, NJ, Alma Close Jackson of Rahway, NJ, and Ruby Bennett of Tampa, FL; uncles, Alvin “Donald” Bennett of Clarksville, TN, and Jerry Bennett of Tampa, FL; special cousins: Pamela Smith of Dothan, AL, Patrina Smith, and Stature Rambeau, both of Donalsonville; special friends, Richmond Daniels of Bainbridge, GA, and Ben Leonard Sr. of Donalsonville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
