Jimmy Harris was born February 27, 1951, in Donalsonville, Georgia. He was the son of Luzeria Johnson.
Jimmy met the former Annie Lee, the two fell in love and were married on May 8, 2002.
Believing in JESUS CHRIST as the SON of GOD and choosing to live faithfully as a Christian, Jimmy became a member of the Church of Christ. He was baptized on March 10, 2002, at Henderson Avenue Church of Christ in Donalsonville.
Anyone who met Jimmy, met a caring man who would do what he could to help others. Family was important to him, and he loved them very much. Jimmy had great talent within his hands. He was a skilled brick mason, cook, and gardener. Many witnessed the works from his hands by the many fruits, vegetables, and plants he had grown and shared with others, the structures he built, and the delicious meals he cooked. His favorite pastimes were watching westerns and the news, being with family, working out in the yard, talking politics, “shooting the breeze” with his closest friends, and talking about THE LORD.
He was preceded in death by his mother and three sisters Fannie Johnson, Sarah Brown and Debbie Perkins. In addition, several days after Jimmy’s death, his brother, Tommy Harris passed away.
Jimmy departed this earth on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
He is survived by his wife Annie Harris; sister Patricia Bludsaw; bonus-daughter Tasha Lister (Rodney); daughter Cassandra; brothers-in-law James Perkins, Walter Lee Jr. and Jake Lee; sisters-in-law Lillie Bryant, Mildred Rogers, Patty Rogers (Ulysee), Alice Holmes, Shirley Lee, Wanda Floyd and Debra Floyd; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
