Jody Myrick Sr. was born September 26, 1959, in Seminole County, Georgia, to the parentage of Eva Mae Myrick and Eddie Frank Warren. He attended the public schools of Seminole County and was a member of Seminole County High School Class of 1977. Jody moved to California over fifteen years ago, living in several different cities. His last residence was at Driftwood Health Care in Hayward, California, where he remained for over a year and passed away on March 12, 2022.
Jody joined and was baptized very early in life into the Baptist faith at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Georgia. He later began to take interest in the Muslim religion and studied the Quran; however, he never fully committed to that religion.
Jody was a committed and faithful die-hard San Francisco 49ers’ fan; everything that he owned from the largest to the smallest item bore their logo. He was that fan that if they were losing and you were having a conversation with him, the phone would become silent and his attitude would do a 180; and you might as well end the call, because he was done. He needed time to regroup and regain his composure–it was really serious.
Jody’s oldest daughter, Regina Grimsley, preceded him in death on April 12, 2002. He died on her birthday. His sons are Jonathan Smith, Jody Myrick Jr., and Justyn Myrick (Jody & The 3 J’s). Talib Arline and Wiley Arline also called him Dad. His family also includes his forever daughter-in-law Regina Smith; granddaughter Kendra Grimsley; siblings Tyronza Myrick (Sabrina), Angelia Myrick (maternal) and Nanette Clark (paternal); nieces Erica Pearson (Murray), Jalise Clark and Jasmine Clark; nephews Tyronza Smith (Megan), Jeremy Smith (Christy), Tavoris Williams (LaQuana), Kendall Owens and Carl Lawrence Clark; special cousin Calvin Rogers; faithful and devoted friends Tanji Arline, Tony White and James Daniels; and aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other friends.
