Joe Nat "Shock" Jones

Joe Nathan Jones (“Shock”) was born April 17, 1927,  in Seminole County, Georgia.  He was the son of the late Pearlie Bryant and Alfonda Jones Sr.

He believed and accepted CHRIST at a young age and joined Saint John African Methodist Episcopal Church.  A very hard worker, Joe Nathan was an extremely gifted contractor for many years until his health failed.

He met and married the late former Leomie Williams.  To this union were born seven children; one of whom, Erza Jones, preceded him in death.

Joe Nathan made his transition from this earthly life on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at his home in Donalsonville, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by his grandson Eric Jones; brother Alfonda Jones Jr. (Nancy); three sisters Castoria Jones, Mary Wynn (Henry) and Margaret Haire; two brothers-in-law Paul Lane and James Williams; and sister-in-law Mary Jones.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories six devoted children–three sons:  McKenzie Jones (Elzaree), Nathaniel Jones, both of Donalsonville, G, and Emmett Jones (Rosa) of Miami, FL; three daughters: Zora Jones (Celhomme Jeanfrancois) of Miami, FL, Lisa Jones, and Melissa Jones, both of Donalsonville; seventeen grandchildren:  Patrick Jones, McKenzie Jones Jr. (Kizzy), Jerrod Powell (Raven), Anthony Jones, LaToya Price (Dexter), Emmett Jones Jr., Tamara Efford (Darryl), Celhomme Jeanfrancois Jr., Rickey Jeanfrancois (Jalisha), Chingva Jeanfrancois, Antawan Jones (Kartna), LaDarias Taylor, Anthony Taylor III, Jordyn Blanks, Ezra Jones Jr., Erika Rambo (Chris), and Eric Jones; several great grandchildren; one brother, R. C. Jones of Gordon, AL; four sisters:  Bernice Lane of Miami, FL, Gloria Williams of St. Petersburg, FL, Louise Bush (Charles), and Annie Jones, both of Donalsonville; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, loved ones and devoted friends.
