Brother John Isaac Baker was born April 6, 1928, in Donalsonville, Georgia, to John Baker and Lela Baker.

He departed this life on May 4, 2021, in Thomasville, Georgia.

John was married to Elaine Baker who departed in 2015.  To this marriage were born seven children; three of whom–Natarsha Baker, Alfonza Baker and Louverne Baker Mitchell–preceded him in death. John had three siblings that preceded him in death:  Gustand Tolbert, Louise Hall, and James Baker.

Brother John sang in a quartet for many years and traveled the southern region singing. He was a member of New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church and served as a Deacon under Pastor Cleveland Sanders.

He worked as a farmer for many years. Then he became an employee of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill in Cedar Springs, working thirty years before retiring.

He leaves to cherish three daughters:  Brenda G. Cooper (Willie James ) in Bainbridge, GA, Lillian Jack in Tallahassee, FL, and Mary L. Baker-Dove in San Diego, CA; and one son, John I.
