Life and Time

Brother Larry Bernard Handsford, the son of Eddie Gene Handsford and Cecile Savage, departed this earthly life on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Southeast Medical Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.  He was born on June 6, 1955, in Donalsonville, Georgia.

Larry confessed CHRIST as his SAVIOR at an early age at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.  He received his education in the public school system of Seminole County, last attending Seminole County High School.

In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Lavara Rainey and Tina LeFevre; two brothers, Eddie Handsford, Jr. and Gregory Hopson; one son, Michael Handsford; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Synthia Simmons; three children: Lorna Handsford (Nikki), Asia Handsford, and Larry Handsford, Jr.; seven grandchildren; caring mother, Cecile Savage; seven sisters: Lois Bullock (Earnest), Lois Hall (Kenny), Mable Register (Tyrone), Nerida Savage, Sabrina Savage, Debra Handsford, and Patricia Smith (Amos); and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
