Mary, affectionately known as “Ms. Tito”, was born March 5, 1924, in Donalsonville, Seminole County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late General Hill Sr. and Mary Lizzie Howard Hill. She attended Seminole County Training School, followed by her attendance at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia.
She was the mother of six children; two of whom, Wil Curtis Chambers and Michael L. Hill Sr., preceded her in death.
She confessed CHRIST as her SAVIOR at an early age, joining Live Oak African Methodist Episcopal Church of Donalsonville. Mary served for several decades as a Class Leader and sang in the Adult Choir until her health started declining.
“Ms. Tito” enjoyed cooking, cleaning and baking for her family and others. She became a Mother and Aunt to many with whom she came in contact. She was always kind, considerate and lending a helping hand to whomever. And she was especially famous for her Pound Cake.
On Friday, February 4, 2022, at the age of ninety-seven, Mary transitioned into Eternal Rest at her home. She will be truly missed by her family and loved ones.
Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories her children–three sons: Willie Alfred Fennell of Donalsonville, Georgia, Donnie Butler (Debra) of Dothan, Alabama, and Tony Hill Sr. of Rincon, Georgia; and one daughter, Phyllis Hill Rambo (Danny) of Donalsonville; three special nieces: Wanda Tucker of Allentown, Pennsylvania, whom she raised as her own, Kathryn Tucker of Central Islip, New York, and Minnie Lee Tucker of Brooklyn, New York; three loving and devoted daughters-in-law: Loretta Chambers of Donalsonville, Pamela Hill of Statesboro, Georgia, and Dora Faye Hill of Douglasville, Georgia; two daughters-of-love, Stephanie Dupree and Malissia Dillard, both of Donalsonville; two dearly beloved granddaughters, LaTrell Hill (Dontate) and Janis Leonard, both of Donalsonville; four godsons: Robert Stewart, Zollie Buggs Sr., Terry Reynolds, all of Donalsonville, and Eddie Jones of Fairburn, Georgia; two goddaughters, Tameka S. King of Donalsonville, and Beatrice Smith of Ashford, Alabama; four nieces-of-love: her caretaker Angela Kimble, Linda Kimble, Sandra McDonald, all of Donalsonville, and Barbara Green of Daytona Beach, Florida; and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
