Mechelle Barnes

Sister Mechelle Barnes was called Home April 4, 2025, at Emory Midtown Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.  Seeing Our Loving Mother at her times of pain was devastating, so GOD reached down and carried her sweet soul Home, and now the pains are washed away.  Praise GOD!

She was born to Beauty Pearl Barnes on January 10, 1967.  She was a native of Seminole County, Georgia.

Mechelle received her education in Seminole County, graduating Seminole County High School in the Class of 1985.  She was very talented and loved to dance.  In high school, Mechelle entered a talent show for dancing and singing and was also involved in girl’s basketball.  She also attended Gwinnett College for computer information, where she received her Associate’s Degree.  

Sister Mechelle was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend.  She had a very bright loving spirit.  Mechelle loved everyone, and she always took people under her wings.  She was always strong, and she never wanted others to feel sorry for her.  Very independent, strong minded and a child of GOD was who she was.

Her presence will sorely be missed.  She leaves to cherish her loving memories her three children: Keon Latarrance Moore, Ariel Tali Halliburton, both of Atlanta, Georgia, and Brittany Talisha Barnes of Upstate New York; her grand kids:  boys Ty’Kel Moore, Jaylen Barnes, Josiah Barnes and Jeremiah Barnes, and girls Ka’Lynn Moore, Kerionna Moore and Ty’ina Moore; brothers:  Bryant Wade, Samuel King, Patrick Barnes, all of Georgia, and Horachious Fripp of Florida; sisters, Belinda Wade and Sandra Bryant, both of Georgia; best friends:  Angeila Myrick, Ms. Leola, Ms. Judy, Yasmeen Muhammad, Victoria Robinson, Roshaun Silver, and Laticia Jackson; SCHS classmates of 1985; and a host of other relatives and friends.
