A Time to Be Born: Monika Gay Horne-Boykin was the daughter of Queen and David Horne. She was born on January 18, 1971, at Seminole Memorial Hospital in Donalsonville, Georgia.
A Time to Be Grow: Monika accepted CHRIST as her LORD AND SAVIOR at an early age. She joined Newberry African Methodist Episcopal Church in Donalsonville.
She was a 1990 graduate of Seminole County High School. Gay was also an outstanding athlete of the Lady Indians Basketball Team. She was employed over fifteen years with the State of Florida as a Human Service Worker II with her last assignment at Pathways at Sunland in Marianna.
A Time to Love: Gay became a mother to her three beautiful daughters: Quintavious Lashaan Horne, Marrisa Ta’Shay Clemons and Kianna Monique Mike.
A Time to Die: Gay entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, David Horne Sr. and Sam Smith Sr., and two aunts, Ola Jean Smith and Nellie Jean Horne.
A Time to Mourn: Gay leaves to cherish her memories her loving beautiful daughters: Quintavious Horne, Marrisa Clemons (Maceil), and Kianna Mike; four grandchildren; devoted parents, Queen and David Horne; sisters: Patricia Wallace (Donnell), Sandra Smith, and Angel Horne; brother, Kevin Horne (Kizzie); grandparents, Henrietta Horne and Versie Ree Johnson; great friend, Julius Boykin; stepdaughter, Valentina Boykin; stepson, Julian Boykin; mother-in-law, Julia Boykin; godbrother, Jermaler Powell; godsons, Marlon Henderson and Tacaruise Myrick; five nieces; three nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, other family members and friends.
