Ollie White Life and Time

Dusk falls…and I close my eyes to wake to bright
New tomorrow
Gone are… the labors of life, the futility of strife, and the lingering tomorrow of sorrow
Dawn Breaks…and I clearly see a new day of heavenly creation–
fresh with new hope, renewed faith and good cheer, and the promise of eternal salvation.

Ollie Jean Lindsey White was born in Seminole County, Georgia, on February 2, 1937, to the parentage of Herbert Lindsey and Gertrude Jackson Lindsey.

She accepted CHRIST at an early age and joined New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Iron City, Georgia.  Later she moved to Newark, New Jersey, and joined New Fountain Baptist Church.  Upon returning home to Seminole County, Ollie Jean restored her membership with New Corinth, where she served until GOD called her to a Heavenly Home.

She was educated in the public schools of Seminole County and Decatur County.  Ollie graduated from Edwards Waters College, Jacksonville, Florida, receiving her Certification as a Seamstress.  She worked for John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. in Bainbridge, Georgia, until her retirement.

To GOD be the Glory for a Ministry of Love HE placed in Ollie.  She truly loved her children, family and others.  She nurtured other children and provided them a home when they didn’t have a home of their own.  She was compassionate, and a Loving friend to all who knew her.

Ollie departed her earthly life on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Reverend Edward Lindsey, sister Dorothy Lindsey Bolden and three brothers-in-law Arthur Daniels, David Green, Jr. and MacArthur McLean.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters:  Ms. Cecelia White of Marietta, GA, Ms. Ywanakee Allison of Newark, NJ, Mrs. Terri White Okparaeke (Samuel) of North Brunswick, NJ, and Ms. Shunta Allen of Donalsonville, GA; one son, Mr. Shari’ Allen of Newark, NJ; nine grandchildren:  Sidney White, Xavier Lauderdale, Iemon Allen, Kierra Allen, Sam Okparaeke Jr., Shania Allen, Kayla Howard, Shari’ Allen Jr., and Shamerion Allen; ten great grandchildren:  Zariah May White, Maziyah May White, Khylan Lauderdale, Khyan Thornton, Emminne Henderson, Amar Koonce, Braylan Leonard, Kymirayah Mitchell, Koi Thornton,  and Sidney White Jr.; three sisters:  Laurine Daniels of Jakin, GA, Barbara McLean of Hillside, NJ, and Alice Green of Americus, GA; one sister-in-law, Margaret Lindsey of Donalsonville, GA; one brother-in-law, Minge Bolden of Savannah, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her genuine love and affection.
