Michael, affectionately known as “PeeWee” and “Snake”, was born March 3, 1960, in Donalsonville, Georgia. He was the son Ms. Mary E. Hill and the late J. W. Cummings.He confessed CHRIST as his SAVIOR at an early age, joining Live Oak African Methodist Episcopal Church.
In 1978, Michael graduated Seminole County High School. He joined the United States Army in May 1979. He served his country faithfully, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After twenty-plus years, he retired.
He also worked as a Security Officer at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. Due to health issues, he later retired.
Early morning on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice Center at Cobb County, THE LORD called one of HIS angels Home to join HIS Heavenly Army. In addition to his father J. W. Cummings, he was preceded in death by his brother Wil Curtis “Butch” Chambers.
Michael leaves to cherish his most precious memories his devoted and caring wife Dora Faye Hill of Douglasville, GA; two sons Randi Hurd of Douglasville, GA, and Michael L. Hill Jr. of Riverdale, GA; one daughter Celia Milledge of Cobb County, GA; three stepdaughters Chassity Felix of Cedar Hill, TX, Kamille Jackson and Jonnah Dixon-Mitchell of Douglasville, GA; eight grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; mother Ms. Mary E. Hill of Donalsonville, GA; mother-in-law Ms. Carolyn R. Wells of Plano, TX; three brothers Willie Alfred Fennell of Donalsonville, GA, Donnie Butler (Debra) of Dothan, AL, and Tony E. Hill Sr. of Rincon, GA; one sister Phyllis Hill Rambo (Danny) of Donalsonville, GA; two very dear cousins/sisters Wanda Tucker of Allentown, PA, and Diane Tucker of Central Islip, NY; one brother-in-law Earnest Wells Jr. (Linda) of Crestview, FL; six loving sisters-in-law Loretta Chambers, Malissia Dilliard, both of Donalsonville, GA, Pamela Hill of Statesboro, GA, Carolyn M. Wells, Blenda Wells, both of Dallas, TX, and Rosalyn Wells of Mesquite, TX; a loving nephew Tony “Lil’ Tony” Hill II of Statesboro, GA; two dearly beloved nieces his hero Latrell “Trell” Hill and Janis “Monkey Boo” Leonard, both of Donalsonville, GA; four godbrothers and best friends Eddie Jones of Fairburn, GA, Terry Reynolds, Robert Stewart and Zollie Buggs Sr., all of Donalsonville, GA; two godsisters Tameka S. King of Donalsonville, GA, and Bea Smith of Alabama; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and sorrowing friends.
