Samuel Eugene Brannon, affectionately known as “Pete”, was born in Seminole County, Georgia, on January 18, 1955. He was the son of the late Mr. Sammy and Mrs. Mary Brannon.
His education was received at Seminole County High School in Donalsonville, Georgia. Samuel confessed CHRIST at an early age and joined Live Oak African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he served faithfully as a Trustee for a number of years.
At the age of 16, he became employed as a Cook at the Chef Restaurant, working there for 20 years. He then was employed by Amoco Fabrics in Bainbridge, Georgia, as a Pipe Builder for 30 years until the company closed. He also worked part-time at Hardee’s establishment until his health failed.
After a short illness, Samuel (Pete) transitioned on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Emory Transplant Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brother Joe C. Brannon and a brother-in-law A. C. Haire.
Samuel leaves behind a wife, Sharon Brannon; one foster son whom he loved dearly, Lance Bullock; three brothers: Bobby Brannon of Kinsey, AL, Thomas Williams (Arthea) of Donalsonville, GA, and Tony Lamar Brannon of Moultrie, GA; three sisters: Mary Alice English of Providence, RI, Debra Brannon, and Reverand Rheunnette Haire, both of Donalsonville; one aunt, Christina Jones of Los Angeles, CA; two brothers-in-law, DeAndre Wooten and James Wooten Jr.; a special friend whom he thought of as a brother, Floyd Smith of Hawaii; and a host of nephews and nieces who respected and loved him as a special uncle, cousins, and many sorrowing friends.
