During the early afternoon hours of April 5, 2022, GOD selected another one of HIS precious children to come Home. Sarah Lillie Peterson-Greene (aka “Taff-Ann”) quietly and peacefully slipped away to be with our LORD And SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
Sarah Lillie Peterson-Greene was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly at the age of 83.
She was born to Namon and Inez Peterson on November 18, 1939. She attended Seminole County Training School; and after graduation, Sarah met the love of her life, Hezekiah “Tobe” Greene. The two lovers entered into Holy Matrimony on March 24, 1956. Together, Sarah and “Tobe” had three children: Debra, Laverne (Moses) and Anthony.
At a very early age, Sarah joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Donalsonville, Georgia, serving faithfully on the Board of Trustees and the Missionary Society, as well as in the Senior Choir. Sarah was a very well known and respected member of the Seminole County/Donalsonville community. She served on several local civic boards.
Sarah loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for her family. For this reason, she was able to utilize her amazing culinary skills to benefit her church, as she was Chairperson of the Kitchen Committee at Macedonia.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. She leaves behind to mourn her husband of 60 years, Hezekiah “Tobe” Greene; three children: Debra “Debbie” Greene, Laverne Greene-James (Moses), and Anthony “Hezekiah” Greene; one stepdaughter, Beverly Thomas (Tim); six grandchildren: Andre Lamear Shannon (LaToya), Anthony Spikes (Shanteeanna), Antoinette “Cricket” Greene, Antonia “Angel” Greene, Avery Stewart, and Aisley Stewart; four great grandchildren: Arianna Renee Spikes, Anthony Spikes Jr., Aaron Emilio Spikes, and Alleah Deshawntee Spikes; one sister, Bertha Miles; five godchildren: Barron , Kevin, Nicole, Lawan, and Vincent; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
