Ricky Allen Barber was born on August 5, 1959, in Seminole County, Georgia. Ricky was the fifth of nine children born to Eugene Barber Sr. and Doshie Mae Brewer Barber.
He attended Miller County Elementary and High School in Colquitt, Georgia, graduating in 1978. Ricky joined and trained in the United States Army after high school. He spent nine years serving his country both domestically and internationally and rose to the rank of Sergeant. After receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army, Ricky spent the rest of his life being self-employed in various disciplines.
Ricky married Harriet Screen in June 2021. He enjoyed spending time with her in Bainbridge, Georgia.
He departed his earthly life on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Donalsonville Memorial Hospital in Donalsonville, Georgia. He will truly be missed.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Harriet Screen Barber of Bainbridge, GA, and his children, Keyatta Johnson of Donalsonville, GA, and Eugene Bullenkamp of Wilhemshaven, Germany.
His Family Tree includes his father, Eugene Barber Sr. (deceased); loving mother, Doshie Brewer Barber Fennell of Iron City, GA; siblings: sister Julia Barber Durr (deceased), brother Eugene Barber Jr. (deceased), sister Myrtice Barber Atrice (Walker) of Fayetteville, GA, brother Cleve Barber (Cynthia) of Houston, TX, brother Tony Dale Barber of Iron City, GA, brother Scotty Lee Barber of Iron City, GA, sister Pamela Nancy Barber-Smith of Peterman, AL, and sister Paula Nancy Barber of Alpharetta, GA; one aunt, Dorothy Brewer Wims of Philadelphia, PA; stepchildren: Kenneth Washington, Carrie Washington, both of Atlanta, GA, Acie Washington, Teresa Speights, both of Bainbridge, GA, Robert Speights Jr. of Dothan, AL, Kenyauta Clark of Tallahassee, FL, and Lapoloean Washington of North Miami, FL; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a long list of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and past work associates.
