Wil Chambers Life and Time

A native of Donalsonville, Georgia, Wil Curtis Chambers was born to Mary E. Hill, the late Willie Ben Chambers and a special father Ulysses (Ophelia) Saffold on December 8, 1946.

He accepted CHRIST at an early age and joined Live Oak African Methodist Episcopal Church. Wil faithfully attended Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church until he was called to Rest.

Wil attended Seminole County Training School and was a member of the Class of 1965. He served in the United States Army and was a Senior ROTC Instructor and a Senior Military Instructor at North Carolina State University. He was employed by American Peanut Growers for fifteen years.

Wil met the love of his life, the former Loretta Coleman, in November 1989. They were united in Holy Matrimony on July 6, 2002.

He departed his earthly life on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at his home in Donalsonville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his sister Joyce Coney and brother Marvin Chambers.

Wil leaves to cherish his memories his wife whom he affectionately called "Boo", Loretta Coleman Chambers of Donalsonville; five children: Janis Leonard of Donalsonville, TaMisha Kimble (Robert) of Conyers, GA, Karliss Chambers of Detroit, MI, Kenita Harris (Roderick) of Donalsonville, GA, and Sean Whitworth of Houston, TX; five grandchildren: Tajuana Kimble, Robert Kimble, both of Conyers, GA, Demetric Martin Sr., Frank F. Leonard, and Maliyah Harris, all of Donalsonville; seven great grandchildren: Skylar Bigsby, Zaya Bigsby, Saniya Bigsby, all of Conyers, GA, Demetric Martin Jr., Simon Wright, Seymon Wright, and Treyvon Wallace, all of Donalsonville; five sisters: Phyllis Hill Rambo of Donalsonville, Linda Freeman (Raymond) of Tampa, FL, Ann Saffold of Louisiana, Glenda Haynes (Phillip) of Cairo, GA, and Carliss Davenport (John) of Maryland; eight brothers: Willie Alfred Fennell, David Wilson, both of Donalsonville, GA, Donnie Butler (Debra) of Dothan, AL, Michael Hill (Dora) of Douglasville, GA, Tony Hill of Rincon, GA, Manzy Saffold (Debra), Trent Saffold, and Jake Williams, all of Tampa, FL; a special sister-in-law, Malissia Dillard of Donalsonville; five other sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law, Bo Coney of Tampa, FL; a godfamily: Rudolph, Yavonne, Tiffani, Gabrielle and Tristan Randolph of Conyers, GA; two godchildren, Torrence Elijah and Terrance Elijah, both of Bainbridge, GA; five godsiblings: Tameka King, Beatrice Smith, Robert Stewart, Zollie Buggs, and Eddie Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
