William Hention, Jr., the son of William Hention Sr. and Gertrude Hention, was born on March 28, 1936.
William Hention, Jr. was born and raised in Donalsonville, Georgia. He moved to Florida to pursue work and later moved to Alabama to better himself. While he was there, he met the love of his life, Ann Sparks. They were united in marriage on March 16, 1963. After marriage, they moved to Atlanta, Georgia. It was there that they built a life together, grew in their careers and had one son, William Michael Hention. He was a devoted husband, father and hard worker.
William Hention, Jr. departed this life on March 7, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Ann Hention of Atlanta, Georgia; and his son William Michael Hention and wife Addie Hention, along with their children Jeffrey, Jeremy, Tiara, Bryan, Makayla and Gabriel of Stone Mountain, Georgia. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sister-in-law Versie Hention of Donalsonville, Georgia; sister-in-law Eloise McNeely and her husband Willie McNeeley of Sylacauga, Alabama; niece Josephine Edwards and her son Romeo, along with his wife Diane and children of Donalsonville, Georgia; nephews Eddie Hention and Lexi Hention of Donalsonville, Georgia; cousin Roosevelt Christian and wife Jose Christian of Donalsonville, Georgia; cousin Mitchell Harris of Tampa, Florida; cousin George Koonze of Miami, Florida; cousins Goldie Kelly and Sam Kelly of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and many other relatives and friends.
William Hention Jr. was preceded in death by his parents Mr. William Hention Sr. and Mrs. Gertrude Hention, brothers O. C. and L. C., and sisters Grace and Verna.
William Hention Jr. will always be remembered for his generosity and kindness to other people by helping in anyway he could.
