Brother William Anthony Gray, also known as "Pete", was born on December 24, 1941, in Early County, Georgia, to the late Mr. Carlton and Mrs. Versie Gray. In his early days, he attended Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Georgia.
"Pete" attended and graduated Monroe High School in Cocoa, Florida. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served for three years. He was a carpenter by trade.
He lived most of his early adult life in Florida. He later moved to Dothan, Alabama, spending about forty years of his life there. Then he returned to Donalsonville, Georgia, where he resided until death.
Pete lived peaceably among all men. He passed away quietly on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at his home in Donalsonville. His brother, Harvey Gray, and his mother preceded him in death respectively in 2000 and 2014.
He leaves to cherish his memories a brother, Willie James Gray; a sister, Ruth Engram; two aunts, Alberta Lewis and Eunice Stanley; and a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends.
