Willie, affectionately known as “Alfred”, was born November 17, 1943, in Donalsonville, Georgia.
He was the son of the late Ms. Mary E. Hill and the late Mr. James Fennell. He confessed CHRIST at an early age, joining Live Oak African Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1961, Alfred graduated from Seminole County Training School.
While living in Tampa, Florida, Alfred worked in the Transportation Industry as a Truck Driver. Later he moved to Hinesville, Georgia, where he worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation reconstructing U. S. Route (Highway) 84. Due to his health failing, Alfred moved back home to Donalsonville, Georgia.
Alfred departed his earthly life on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his two sons Willie Alfred Fennell, Jr. and Tony Lane and his two brothers Wil Curtis “Butch” Chambers and Michael Hill, Sr.
Alfred leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Sandra Williams (Jessie) of Calvary, GA, and Sonja Anderson of Tampa, FL; one son, Jason Lane of Tampa, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Hill Rambo (Danny) of Donalsonville, GA; two brothers, Tony Hill Sr. of Rincon, GA, and Donnie Butler (Debra) of Dothan, AL; two cousins/sisters, Wanda Tucker of Allentown, PA, and Diane Tucker of Central Islip, NY; four sisters-in-love: Pamela Hill of Statesboro, GA, Dora Hill of Douglasville, GA, Loretta Chambers, and Malissia Dillard, both of Donalsonville; four god sisters: Tameka S. King, his caretaker Stephanie Dupree, his caretaker Angela Kimble, all of Donalsonville, and Beatrice Smith of Ashford, AL; four god brothers: Robert Stewart, Zollie Buggs, Sr., Terry Reynolds, all of Donalsonville, and Eddie Jones of Marietta, GA; five special friends: Betty Bell, Melissia Lane, James Pelham, Jimmy Lee “Wolf” Brannon, and Leroy Cumbie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
