Brother Willie James Gray, also known as “Lester” was born September 16, 1943, in Early County, Georgia to the late Mr. Carlton and Mrs. Versie Gray. He attented Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Georgia.
“Lester” attended Monroe High School in Cocoa, Florida. After Graduation he worked in the pulpwood industry. He was a brick mason by trade.
He lived most of his early adult life in Florida. He later moved to Donalsonville, Georgia, where he resided until death.
Lester was charitable within his community. In his early years, he taught Sunday School.
He passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama. His brother Harvey Gray, his mother Mrs. Versie Gray, his brother William Gray and his sister Ruth Engram preceded in death respectively in 2014, 2017, and 2019.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sister, Anntina Gray; two aunts, Alberta Lewis and Eunice Stanley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and good neighbors
